The Green Party uses the open source ModX Content Management System (CMS) to manage websites for local groups. Follow this procedure to set up a map page on your official Green Party local group website:
- Log in to the manager area of your Green Party site.
- Create a new page for the map using the "Local Standard Page" template.
- In the content WYSIYWG editor, click on the button labelled "HTML". A window called "HTML Source Editor" will popup.
- In another browser tab, log in to Mapamatic and go to the Export screen for your project.
- On the Export screen you will see a field called "Embed code". Copy-paste the field contents into the HTML Source Editor popup in the other browser tab.
- Click the Update button. This will close the HTML Source Editor popup window. It will look like there is no content in the WYSIWYG editor window; that's perfectly okay.
- Click Save.
Now visit your new map page to test it.
The default configuration settings in Mapamatic should work correctly when the map is embedded in a ModX site, but if something is not working, these are the settings to check:
- Map Configuration: Map selector should be "#map".
- Panel Configuration: Panel selector should be "#aside'.
- Panel Configuration: Wrapper class should be "spchunk".
You do not need to do another Export if you make changes to these settings.
